Results-Based Financing (RBF) is a tool to extend funds to social programs that work. In a Results-Based Financing model, a “payer” (a foundation, international donor, or government) funds a service provider for mutually agreed upon desirable outcomes. RBF is a way to contract services that focus on evidence and aims at financing social programs that are focused on creating a sought impact in the field in focus. A variety of entities use Results-Based Financing to pay for specific outcomes, like Governments in developing countries, international donors and philanthropies, have all used this practical approach to making measurable social impacts in various societies around the world.
